We want every bottle to work for the person who buys it. If it does not, here is how we handle returns, exchanges, and refunds. The short version is below. Full details are in the sections that follow.
What you can return
Unopened products
If a product is unopened, in its original sealed packaging, and in resalable condition, you can return it for a full refund within thirty days of delivery.
Opened products with an adverse skin reaction
Every botanical in our formulations is plant-based, and even natural ingredients can cause individual reactions. If you have patch-tested responsibly and experienced an allergic or adverse reaction, we want to hear from you. Contact us within fourteen days of first use with photos of the reaction and your order number. We review these returns case by case and, in most situations, will offer a refund or store credit even on an opened product.
Damaged or defective products
If your order arrives damaged or defective, this is on us. We pay for the return and the replacement. Just email photos of the packaging and product to hello@sapphirebotanics.com within seven days of delivery and we will take care of it.
Wrong item received
If we shipped the wrong product, notify us within seven days of delivery. We will send the correct item at no cost and cover return shipping for the incorrect one.
What cannot be returned
For hygiene, safety, and the nature of skincare formulations, the following are not eligible for return:
- Opened products returned for reasons other than an adverse skin reaction or a product defect.
- Products more than thirty days past delivery (except damaged or defective items within the seven-day damage window).
- Items marked as Final Sale at the time of purchase.
- Gift cards and digital products.
- Products purchased from a retailer or third party rather than directly from sapphirebotanics.com. Contact the original retailer for those returns.
How to start a return
Send a note to hello@sapphirebotanics.com with your order number, the product you are returning, the reason, and (if applicable) photos of the issue.
Within two business days we will reply with a return authorization and the address to ship to. Please do not send anything back before you receive this email. Unauthorized returns may be refused or delayed.
Package the item securely with your order number on the outside. Use a trackable shipping method. Keep your receipt and tracking number until your refund is processed.
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will email you a confirmation. Your refund will appear on your original payment method within seven to fourteen business days, depending on your bank.
Return shipping costs
Return shipping is the customer's responsibility, except when the product arrives damaged, defective, or we shipped the wrong item. In those cases, we provide a prepaid return label at no cost to you.
We recommend using a trackable shipping service. We cannot issue a refund for a return that is lost or damaged in transit back to us. Original outbound shipping charges (if any were paid) are not refundable.
Refund amount and method
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout. The refunded amount includes the price of the returned product and any taxes charged on it. It does not include original shipping charges (unless the return is due to our error) or return shipping costs paid by the customer.
If you paid with a gift card or store credit, your refund will be issued back to that gift card or as store credit.
Exchanges
If you received the wrong product, took the quiz and received a different result than what you originally purchased, or want to swap one elixir for the other, email us and we will help. Exchanges follow the same process as returns, and any price difference is either refunded or charged to the original payment method.
Refused or undeliverable shipments
If a parcel is refused at delivery, returned to us because of an incorrect address, or left unclaimed at a pickup location and returned to sender, we will process it as a return once it arrives back at our warehouse. A refund will be issued for the product cost, minus any non-refundable shipping charges. If you would like the order re-shipped, additional shipping charges will apply.
Gift returns
Products received as gifts can be returned for store credit of the full purchase value, provided they meet the return eligibility criteria above. Contact us with the order number from the gift message or confirmation email and we will set up the return. Store credit is issued to the gift recipient, not the original purchaser, and the original purchaser is not notified of the return.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel an order, email us as soon as possible. If your order has not yet been processed, we can cancel it and issue a full refund. Once an order has been handed to our carrier, it cannot be cancelled, but you can return it under this policy once it arrives.
Sale and promotional items
Items purchased during a sale or with a promotional discount follow the same return policy as full-price items, unless the item is specifically marked Final Sale at the time of purchase. Refunds for discounted items are issued at the price actually paid, not the regular retail price.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any update takes effect from the date of posting on this page and applies to orders placed after that date. Orders already placed are returned under the policy that applied when the order was confirmed.
